Neptunes Fountain was added to the center of Malaga Cove Plaza in 1930. This fountain includes a statue of the King of the Sea Neptune who is holding his trident which represents his power. There are four mermaids placed on the bottom four corners of the fountain. There are also four cherubs each holding a fish on the corners of the fountain below King Neptune. The fountain is a two-thirds size replica of a bronze fountain of Neptune in Bologna, Italy. The fountain was a gift to the community of Palos Verdes Estates from the Palos Verdes Project.
